STRAY DOG MENACE

Slum dweller’s daughter has been mauled and killed by a dog.
Ten-year-old girl was bitten by stray dog, succumbed to injuries and hospitalized.
Two years old baby, Eight months old baby and so many have been killed.

Eight months old baby, after being attacked by a dog in Hyderabad, have been taken to four hospitals in four hours. Each hospital referred the other. Finally her mother found a hospital which provided actual help. Why the baby had to be rushed from one hospital to other and was denied what could have been life-saving treatment? When asked the mother, she said, “She was conscious and drank milk. The doctors gave him oxygen, but her heart stopped." :(

Oops, it is another topic!! I am getting distracted. Coming back, it is not only babies and kids but also grown-up, matured adults. One day, I woke up and was brushing. There was a mob outside. Oh man!! Finally I found the news in the place where am residing (BEML, Bangalore). A boy was killed!!

Till now, it was for others. Now, it is for me :( I was driving my friend’s bike (alone) very slowly. It was night 10+ PM. Thought, all the dogs were asleep. But unfortunately and all of a sudden, a dog rushed towards me and had bitten my leg. I swear I did not do anything. My friend was telling you must have done something, why should the dog come and bite you unnecessarily. The topic has finally ended with the loss of 3000 Rupees for treatment and a pain for a day.

Next time, my friend was also with me :) Three dogs were standing in front of the bike (now I got the new one myself :) Yamaha FZ-S). My friend asked me to proceed. We have started. Soon after crossing the dogs, they started chasing us, one in each side :D Finally we have reached the end of the road. We are supposed to turn right but we turned left and ESCAPEEEEEE :) Now, even he saw the atrocious eyes and the terrific behavior of the dogs. I asked him do you believe me now. He replied :O YES. Finally, we did not go to his house, he stayed with me and left the next day morning :D

Stray dogs are now being hauled up in the hundreds by dogcatchers. I have seen the photographs of dogs’ throats being slit by municipality. Sometimes, healthy and sterilized dogs were also allegedly killed. We are really horrified by the treatment, the dogs were put through. But, this is brutal and inhuman to say all dogs should be eradicated because some of them killed two-three children. But what will be the replies from the people actually suffered.

The replies would be: Would you say the same if your child was killed by dogs?
And even chicken or other non-veg are being slaughtered in a huge number daily.
They not only attack people, but also kill rats, rabbits and rodents in the open field.
Why should I spend 2000 to 5000 Rupees unnecessarily?

We are appalled at the way the kids were mauled to death. But, is it that, the only way is to exterminate the ferocious animals? Is it not the madness? To show a difference, we need to find the solution behind them. One possible solution should be Dog adoption!! But, how many dogs could be adopted? Other solution should be shifting the dogs to the wild. But many hands would be raised saying that the Dogs are territorial and they cannot live in other places.

Sanitation is one of the major problems here and the govt. has turned a blind eye to the problem of garbage resulting in stray dogs crowding around unclear garbage bins. Owners of mutton and chicken shops also dump animal waste in the drains which attracts the stray canines. I have few more questions. If those are answered, hope, there won’t be need of culling the dogs.

Are all the dogs immunized and vaccinated?
Will they send dog vans on time?
Do they record complaints regularly?
Do the help lines respond regularly?
What about the dogs which are suffering from an incurable disease?

Farmville!!

Think what would happen if playing games deflects you too far beyond the threshold!!

I was an ardent player of Farmville, a game in face book (SNS), which makes players, a virtual farmer. It provokes aspect of farm-life like plowing and planting crops, fertilizing in between, harvesting them once they are grown. It is not only about crops and fruits, but also about decorating the farm, taking care of the animals, adding neighbors, giving and receiving gifts to and from the neighbors, and so and so and so.

From Dawn to dusk, I used to think about maintaining my farm. I should tell some of its heights :) I was having coffee with my friend in pantry. I found some plants with the flowers fully grown. I told my friend, without even thinking that they are plastic and that they are kept it in showcase, “Hey the flowers are grown and why are they not harvested yet. It will wither soon.” He started mocking at me and later I have realized :) It happened not only to me but also to my friend, from whom I have got impressed on Farmville and started playing it :P I told the story to my friend. She replied her own identical version of it. Ha Ha.

I was in 33rd level. I had around 30 neighbors and a little competition at my same level. It got more fun. It is also, a kind of, relaxing at the end of a long day to just sit and harvest my crops. Moreover, I liked Farmville because it changed my mind when I was down, and gave me damn lot of patience. I should also mention about the friendship that sprang up from it. But I could be much more productive with my time!

This game looked innocent on the surface. But few players have admitted to becoming addicted. The thought struck me from out of the blue. At first, you get sucked in, plant and harvest different trees and flowers, get buildings and decorations, get all the ribbons and beat your friends. After all these, the game stops having no point. You would be having 50 crore coins and few Farmville points. You would get different buildings and decorate. Then?? The level would increase but soon, it becomes boring. So don’t waste a month of your life sitting for hours/days and waiting for your crops to grow.

Am I the one and only, who look at this as a boring and time consuming game?

Korean Ghost

I have a starting trouble. I used to think more for the first sentence than writing the entire content. Hmm.. Let me start in my usual way :P It was 11:30 PM KST, 11th Dec ‘09, Friday night. I was staying alone in Bharat Guest House at Gumi, Korea. I was browsing for some good songs. In parallel, I was listening to Eminem Beautiful.

But don’t let ‘em say you ain’t beautiful. Oh ho.. Bla bla bla..
I was trying to rap together with Eminem :)

A noise was pricking my head from outside. There were two doors. Between the doors, there is a small place for leaving the sandals. Just to drown out of the noise, I went there and closed the outer door. Inner door is also closed but not locked. Ufff, Hackneyed on seeing the system all the time, working from morning 8 to evening 10/11/12 so and so. Still, I wanted to wrap up plowing/harvesting the seeds/trees and prettifying the farm with new buildings and decorations. Ahh, its Farmville, a game in face book.

Completed, went to the bed at the crack of dawn, about to start a sound sleep, got the same cocking noise from the enclosed veranda. I have tried closing my ears with bed sheets and pillows. Oops, not possible. Woke up and peeped at the inner door. OMG, the squeaking noise was coming from the door. Though I was scared a bit, I went to the door, closed it properly, came back to bed and started sleeping again. Again the pestering sound OMG, I was really scared, woke up, ran fast to the switches and turned on the lights. There was no sound. Ufff.

I was waiting for sometime for the sound. But there were nothing, went back to the bed. The door started squeaking again. I was completely exhausted by that time. I just closed my ears, tightly coupled with the bed sheets and somehow managed to sleep. Next morning, I went and checked the door. It was fit and right. I was thinking about this the whole day. Went to the bed next night, there was no sound. Thank goodness!!

I told my friends the same incident. They did not believe and in fact, they were correcting me that I was dreaming. To the next door, one of my managers was staying, he came for a week visit to Korea. I was cracking my friends that if I get the same sound again, I will go, knock his door and if he is not going to wake up, will bang the door. Ha Ha.

Male and Female Ant

We have been seeing Ants with two colors, Orangish and Blackish. Can you guess which is male and which is female? :P An ant bit me yesterday evening. I was thinking, why is it biting like this and is it a girl? :D Suddenly it came to my mind, the large gregarious predator, LION :) It is not male and it is the group of female lions typically hunts together. Similarly, Orangish must be Female as is the one which hurts.

I have found two other reasons to prove that Blackish is Male.
Reason1: Lord Vinayak is male. :D / Reason2: These ants won’t bite.

PS: We used to call Blackish Ants as Pillaiyaar Ants
(Pillaiyaar is Lord Vinayak in Tamizh).

Salt and Pepper

I went to a restaurant with my friend. We saw two cups on the table. We had a conversation between us to identify which is pepper and which is salt. Finally, we came to a conclusion that the cup with a single hole is salt and the one with three holes is pepper.

That's really logical!! If salt goes more into the food, we cannot eat at all. But not the same for pepper. So, Salt should have only one hole. But fortunately or unfortunately, it was vice versa :-) and he poured more salt in his food!!

But the bad luck is here. On the other day, we went to a restaurant together. We did remember the same incidence and looking at me, he took the cup with three holes and poured fastly in food. Again he got caught :)

Still wondering which is pepper and which is salt ????
